Monster Magazine / The NYC Issue

I was lucky enough to be around during the same time as when the friends of Monster Magazine were in town also, creating the NYC issue. Thanks to the guys at Monster for running my photos, Danke! Jager and Red Bull's on me next time we hang!

Jan Hofer from Switzerland, a young buck who is quite talented, made this sw fs bigspin in about 5 mins, then we ate Pizza across the street.


Also good ole' Austrian buddy Philipp Schuster and I just skated around NYC, and had a blast!

Escape from New York in FTK

Another installment of overwhelmingly posting everything, this was an article in FTK Magazine, that they came up with called Escape from New York, considering that I am from Los Angeles but shooting photos in New York.

My buddy Seth McCoy wrote up a great story about him and some chick in New York, which was super awesome, and I just threw in the photos. Thanks FTK, Seth and all the dudes in the photos.

Jose Pereyra is the homie who is ripping out in New York! I always get texts from him, which I don't understand, because its full of urban slang. I realized it's just his way of checking in with me, and seeing if I am good, he is a very sweet. Recently he got some much deserved love at Slap Magazine.

Jose rips, and I have been waiting for these photos to come to the surface. Btw, the backside bigspin from loading dock into cellar door is INSANE! Check it for yourself next time your in New York. I shot this rad Robert Lim photo, back when I was in New York. It took us almost 2 hours to prep this spot, but once getting it setup, it looked great. We were in New York skating around and made jokes about this spot. Casey took it upon himself to try and ollie up. Their was only 2 tries, and the previous one, he almost fell into the water. Though Casey is a little too good to let himself fall into the fountain, so instead he just landed it.

People commented to me about this ad, some were confused saying, "Just a wallie?", others really liked how it was split into two pictures because it really showed the entire trick, which I really liked too. It was cool how Randy just laid this thing out and was able to do it mulitple times for us to keep shooting different angles. Randy Ploesser / Wallie over to 5050 in Brooklyn.

Speaking of tricks, did you guys ever see Randy's contents in Skateboarder? That was bananas!

JOEY PEPPERS NEW EZEKIEL AD

JOEY PEPPERS NEW AD! Soo hyped on this photo! Out in NY, things can get confusing, out at night, too hot during the day, no car to solidify crews, we're just skating through the streets. On one day, Pepps said he wanted to do this trick and had already landed it, so obviously I was keen on the idea. Upon arriving he was already cranker out and needless to say, the ad above was incredible. Thank you Joey Pepper for your time and effort, see you in NY!

TWINS from not really BIRTH

So the problem is, when promo-time come around, I send the riders the stuff I like. And of course I wear it too.. So one night in NY, I show up at some shit bar, and see Derek twinning me out! We spent the entire night standing next to each other, like we planned on dressing up like that. But throughout the night I kept giggling to myself, "Imagine if we met two girls wearing the same top", Now wouldn't that be convenient, ha!?

The lovely woman you see is none other then Aya, the eastcoast head of Stoked Mentoring, a childen's non-profit group to bring kids out from "banging" to "boards". (I made that last part up, so don't think Stoked is cheezy.. its really just me)

Well FIrst thing is first. Magpie calls me "Hi, I'm at the airport and I just landed from Greece.. errr uhhh, can you pick me up?" Sigh... So needless to say, he is now lerking my guest room.

Second question you might ask is, "You have a guest room now?" Well as of last week, Mr Mark Stewart, has officially moved to NY. Please call this boy up to skate, because otherwise he will be forced to spend his time slaying woman daily.
