Scott Decenzo in the new Concrete Magazine

Wow, soo hyped I am. Thanks soo much to Scott Decenzo and everyone at Concrete!

Cover Caption:
"Back when I used to live in Vancouver, SCOTT “SCOOTER” DECENZO and his older brother Ryan were just two little groms who shredded Delta, BC everyday. Scott was the quieter of the brothers, and let his skating do the talking. Fast-forward three years, and this particular day was no different. Scoot slashed through almost two layers of his board during this California LIPSLIDE down a gnarly curved and knobbed rail, while Plan B filmer Hoops yammered on about God knows what. And the fact that we had to sneak into this private gated condo community full of BMW-driving rich people only added to the anxiety. But for Scott, this was just another day where his skating did the talking."

Thanks again, very appreciative! Happy Holidays to everyone!

Osiris Ad with Lee Yankou

On the same day of this wallie shove, we headed over to this rail which has been soo typically shredded often, but Mr. Yankou found a way to skate it a different way.
While shooting this photo, I asked him if he was going to fakie or straight. He replied quickly, "Dude... straight!" Arguably, I commented "But, I think fakie might be easier, since your body is already going that way," considering the trick was super knarly. He finished our conversation with a hype'd smile, "Naw, man.. Straight is way sicker." Obviously I didn't have much to say after that.

What was funny is rumor has it, that this was supposedly going to be a cover for Concrete Magazine. Another rumor was this cover was at the press, when we all saw Andrew Brophy photo in his Skateboarder interview. Quickly withdrawn and replaced nicely with a Jamie Tancowny cover. Thanks to Osiris Canada for the quick pickup of this photo and Concrete for even a chance of a possible cover, plus Lee for ripping man!

Lee Yankou with a Wallie Shove in Concrete

As any typical Canadian would, Lee Yankou skated this spot, like it was the best spot ever. He kinda discribes it best in this Concrete article, stating that yes, its kinda rough, and your wheels would get caught in the bark, but basically, wallie shove was something he was hyped on. He cranked it out.. twice. Then we went on to skate more and shoot this gnarly ad that will be posted, as soon as it gets printed. Kid's good.

Thanks to Concrete and Lee for doing all the legwork. I kinda just pushed the button.

Hotel California in Concrete Magazine

Hyped!! They did a article on my skate hostel.. I mean house!

So here is the story, for years my house was the skate hostel of many sorts. Had everyone staying here, passing through, staying and living from Europe, Australia and of course Canada. I pitched an article idea to Concrete about all these canadians who come and stay at my house, such as Magnus Hanson, Ryan and Scooter Decenzo, Brad Sheppard just to name a few. They were hyped on the idea and we started formulating. It was awesome, and after a couple months it finally surfaced.

Thanks to Rich Odam and Frank Daniello for helping me out kinda fill in the holes beautifully and help me with my shitty writing, respectively. Also thanks to the skaters who shredded and the guys at Concrete for hooking it up! VIVA LA HOTEL CALIFORNIA. (click here for the article)

SEAN CONOVER in CONCRETE PHOTO ANNUAL

Concrete's Photo Annual featured two of my more favorite photos that I had been saving for a good photo feature such as this. Oli Teilsch is like my brother from another mother in Germany. He is the editor of Monster Mag, TM at Ezekiel Europe and rips at skating too, I love that kid!! So when Ezekiel was out there on our Deported Tour, he took the crew to Belgium and the entire team shot photos within a block of this central plaza. Afterwards everyone showered and proceeded to get drunk and walked around the city. Fucking rad.

Sean Conover's photo was shot in Texas, during our Southern Hotspotality Tour. This tour is when Sean took all the rocks out of his pockets. He destroyed everywhere we skated, it was the most impressive thing I have ever seen! Fully backing that kid! He was super patient with me as I was fiddling with the flashes inside the caves, running in then shooting a tester, then running back in again.. Thanks everyone for getting this to happen!

Stacy Gabriel featured in Concrete Magazine

I might have touched on this subject before, but it seems that I always happen to be LA tourguide with Canadians who come down from Vancouver. While living up in Vancouver everyone was great and hospitable, so its only natural that since moving back down, a fair amount of Canadians give me a call especially during winter. What I like is taking them to all the blownout LA spots that the locals are over.. but for an out-of-towner.. they love it: Stacy Gabriel, fakie crooks fakie shove, with a little late night grain.

Evan Smith Concrete Photo

Evan Smith has a new photo at the "new spot" in LA. Unlike spots in other places in the world, if a new spot hits LA, it gets murdered real fast. This spot came onto the scene was around for 1 month, before it got capped and shut down. Since then, I've shot this and another 2 photos there, and have heard about 15 amazing tricks that have gone down. SIGH.. LA: great for skating, but sometimes a little too great!

EZEKIEL and 5BORO in CONCRETE

The new Concrete mag from canada came out a while back and it had a delicious article (shot by yours truly) on our Ezekiel and 5boro tour to Montreal. This was probably one of the best trips I have been on in ages. We all stayed in a little 1 bedroom Apt (all 10 of us) and skated every day, then slept pretty much like sardines in the living room. Everyone was awesome JUST STRAIGHT SHREDDING! Thanks Brian for the love, and thanks 5boro and Ezekiel for making this happen!

For highrez go here!
