Logging and Blogging

So along time ago I saw a shirt which was commonly around the cool guy LA skateboard scene, with large lime green helvetica letters and it said "Booze and Shoes". It might have been a Fucking Awesome shirt, who knows. Then recently I saw a nice knockoff as Color Magazine had their own version of it with Pools and Schools. Well successfully being a total kook, here I go with: "Logging and Blogging".. Those two acts are my current pathetic daily theme, yet I have no complaints whatsoever.

Derek Fukuhara's Ezekiel Ad

Derek and I spent a day at Venice beach a while back with Ryan Spencer, Darien and Vince. We went to a whoopty ledge and If you have been to this spot before you know how sandy it gets. So after a couple custom made leaf brooms we made a little pathway to his backside crailtail. Conveniently, Ezekiel needed an photo for an ad in the next couple days, so it got laid out almost instantly. If digital photography wasn't instant gratification enough, seeing it in print a month later makes it all that much sweeter. Thanks to Derek and all the broom makers.

Point of Impact Skateshop

On my daily walk to get some coffee with Clyde the Dog, I came across an old pickup truck with an past logo I had created about 10 years ago, and I have completely forgotten about it until now. It was for my local skateshop called "Point of Impact", which was just around the corner.
It was such a rad shop, it didn't even sell shoes or clothes, just boards, wheels and other skateboard accessories. Can't get anymore skate then that. Sadly a couple years ago, it was broken into and everything was stolen, which the owner couldn't recover and it was closed a couple months after. Torrance remembers "Point of Impact!" Roland, I hope your doing good man!

Double the Decenzo Fun in Thrasher

The new knarly ass Thrasher came out today, with a totally gangster cover of Chris Cole and his Wallenburg fantasim. Also I was lucky enough to have some Decenzo love in this issue, starting with his Nollie of El Toro. I can't really say enough about this nollie.. cause it was insane. I will say, he ollied it first try to "warm up" for the nollie, which I thought was amazing enough. Also, I just remember him rolling away, it was just that fast. Boom. Done.

Congrats to Ryan for an amazing feat, but.. wait, theres more.

Also during this span of last minute tricks for his United By Fate , he completely went nuts on this old school spot, Willoughby 10 Rail. Switch 180 to crooks in the middle. Amir hooked it up with the filming to make it look soooo ripping. RDS used my photo, thanks guys - Watch Ryan's video part here.

Ryan Reyes Slashed

Skating with a couple homies one day in LA, Bart Jones from the Skateboard Mag set up his awesome flash kit. Anxious to try it out, I asked Ryan Reyes to just huck an ollie real quick, sync'd my crap to his pocket wizards, and snapped one go. Wow, the comparison is apparently noticeable. I need a new flash kit! Maybe I could win a set in Vegas.. Come on blackjack!

Thanks Reyes for the quick ollie and the crappy after remarks, and Bart for the insanely hilarious comments.

Darkstar featuring Ryan Decenzo

I am updating this post, pretty late at night while watching Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure, totally excellent! ( place fancy air guitar here.) So Ryan has just been on a totally epic killing spree, as I am sure you are fully aware of, dude. So to like totally compliment his tons of coverage already, Darkstar was like totally cool enough to run this excellent backside lip of Ryan for their ad. EXCELLENT! (air guitar and high-pitched sound)

PS: Actually while watching this and writing this.. I thought, what a excellent ringtone this would make. Here it is for download if you want. Excellent.m4r "Whoaaa!"

Louie Barletta in a Bliss Ezekiel Ad

We had to create a quick Blisss Magazine ad for Ezekiel last month, and this is what we came up with, pretty rad. Unfortunately it was an older shot from our Ezekiel Northwest Tour but still excellent! The lifestyle shots are from the trip I took to SJ with a couple Red Bull riders so it was conveniently easy to shoot some random lifestyle stuff! Thanks Lou for your hospitality, and thanks for Ezek for running this ad!

We've been slapping them around our local area, and he finally caught on and hit me up today with opening comment of "Animal Chin, huh?" Basically, we miss skating with you Jason Wakuzawa Come back, your the best!
