MAGNUS HANSON and the NEW MOMENTUM AD!

While shooting for Magnus Hanson's SBC interview, we were able to shoot this amazing sequence. This was actually the second one he did because after he did the first one, he tried again to booshie it out, but he ended up just landing a faster, cleaner one.

For any of you who has been to this spot, you know how hard it is to backsmith through this ledge, much less KICKFLIP BACKSMITH through it. Thanks to Momentum for using this sequence, and thanks to Julio who had to break into my house and upload it from my computer while I was on tour.

THE MAGNUS INTERVIEW in SBC

(cover by Scott Pommier)
I had the great pleasure of shooting a couple photos of Magnus Hanson for his new SBC interview. He is an amazing person to work with and of course a good friend. Thanks SBC for using my photos for this, cause having any photos in the same interview as Scott Pommier I am definitely hyped. (ok, i admit, I am a fan...I guess I like scott's photos...)

STU GRAHAM on EXPN.COM

Pretty rad, I shot these photos of Stu Graham a while back with him and his two little wee ones. Pretty epic photo, especially since he's holding his two little children and such.

Well, what was sick is they put up a feature on Stu and posted him up on the main EXPN.COM page plus an nice interview.
Check it out folks!

TWINS from not really BIRTH

So the problem is, when promo-time come around, I send the riders the stuff I like. And of course I wear it too.. So one night in NY, I show up at some shit bar, and see Derek twinning me out! We spent the entire night standing next to each other, like we planned on dressing up like that. But throughout the night I kept giggling to myself, "Imagine if we met two girls wearing the same top", Now wouldn't that be convenient, ha!?

Gabe De La Mora and Listen Catalog

This is really nothing special, but a while back while in NY, I was just shooting the crew skating/chilling and happened to shoot this one of Gabe. Listen liked it, I forgot about it, and at tradeshow or two ago, I saw it at the booth.. It looks like it found its way into the catalog. Hyped.

Momentum Catalog with Magnus Hanson

Since Magnus stays with me while in LA, we get the opportunity to shred when we are both available. This hurricane is one of the first photos we shot while in LA at a now defunk spot. Hurricane up the ledge and into tranny (original shown below)
Nice that Momentum used it for a catalog/website pic.

Matt Costa + Amateur? video

So randomly I get a call from Matt Costa who is currently on his tour in Kansas at the time of the call. Looks like Fueltv is doing a episode on him regarding his skateboarding thing, then his music career.

For those who don't know, Matt Costa had a part in my first video (2001) called Amateur?. It had amateur and first time parts of Don "Nuge" Nguyen, Ricardo Carvallo, Steve Kindle, Robert Lim and Aaron Babila.

Ok, back to Matt... after he got hurt, he was bedridden for a while, started playing guitar and recording on a small 4 or 8 track... now is on his third album currently touring the United States and Europe.

Its funny, because I haven't broken into this box of tapes in about 8 years, which makes me realize, I've been doing this skateboard industry career many many years, and still love it like it was the first day.

STILL IN HIGHSCHOOL!

Sometimes I forget that these kids I skate with are still in High School. IE: John Demar, an Ezekiel and Element flow rider shows up to skate with a cock on his back car window. When I asked what happened, his response was simply "Ohh, just a senior prank." Wow its been a long time since I had a senior play a prank on me. Also, if they did, is drawing a penis on my back windshield is the best they can do? Only in Irvine I guess.

Have a gander at John Demars ELEMENT FOOTAGE, its mighty good.

NATE BROUSSARD on HI-FI!

Nate Broussard is now on HI-FI wheels. When you see the footage of this switch flip, its awesome. Just raw power and finesse wrapped up into one tall drink of water. When Nate's on it and ready to skate... HE IS ON IT and it's inspiring to watch.

The original picture I shot is below.

Stacy Gabriel featured in Concrete Magazine

I might have touched on this subject before, but it seems that I always happen to be LA tourguide with Canadians who come down from Vancouver. While living up in Vancouver everyone was great and hospitable, so its only natural that since moving back down, a fair amount of Canadians give me a call especially during winter. What I like is taking them to all the blownout LA spots that the locals are over.. but for an out-of-towner.. they love it: Stacy Gabriel, fakie crooks fakie shove, with a little late night grain.
